Creating Your Account

Your Lifecycle OS account is your personal identity across every organization you belong to. This guide covers how to create an account, what to expect during registration, and how to access your profile settings later.

Signing Up Directly

If you're starting a new organization or joining one that hasn't invited you yet:

  1. Navigate to /register in your browser.
  2. Enter your full name, email address, and a password.
  3. Click Create Account.

After registration, you'll be redirected immediately to the organization setup flow. If you're the first person in your company to sign up, you'll create the organization here. If someone has already created the organization and is expecting you, they'll send you an invitation instead (see below).

Tip: Use a work email address. Your email domain is visible to other organization members and is used for team matching when your org admin enables domain-based join.

Joining via Invitation

The most common way to join an existing organization is through an email invitation from an org admin.

  1. Check your inbox for an invitation email from Lifecycle OS.
  2. Click Accept Invitation in the email.
  3. If you don't have an account yet, you'll be prompted to set a password.
  4. Once confirmed, you'll land directly in the organization — no setup required.

Tip: If you don't see the invitation email within a few minutes, check your spam folder. Ask your admin to resend if needed.

Customer Portal Signup

Lifecycle OS includes a customer-facing portal where external users (your customers) can submit feature requests, report bugs, and track status.

Customers sign up separately through a unique URL specific to your organization:

/{org-slug}/join

The customer signup flow is simplified — name, email, and password. Customers receive the Customer role automatically, which grants portal access only. They do not see internal boards, statuses, or team activity.

Your org admin controls whether customer signups are enabled. If the join page is unavailable, the feature has been disabled in your organization's settings.

What Happens After Registration

Once your account exists:

  • You're assigned a user profile with your name and email.
  • You're tied to one or more organizations (you can belong to multiple).
  • Your role within each organization determines what you can see and do.

You don't need to verify your email before getting started — you'll be working immediately after registration.

Managing Your Profile

You can update your account details at any time from your profile settings:

  • Avatar: Upload a profile photo. Avatars appear on work items you're assigned to, in team lists, and in activity feeds.
  • Name: Update your display name — this is what teammates see throughout the product.
  • Email: Change your login email. A confirmation will be sent to the new address.
  • Password: Update your password from the security section of your profile.

To access profile settings, click your avatar or initials in the bottom-left of the sidebar and select Profile Settings.

Signing In

Return to Lifecycle OS at any time by navigating to /login. Enter your email and password to sign in.

If you forget your password, click Forgot password? on the login page and follow the reset instructions sent to your email.

Multiple Organizations

A single Lifecycle OS account can belong to multiple organizations — for example, if you're a consultant working with several clients, or if your company maintains separate orgs for different business units.

Switch between organizations using the org switcher in the top-left of the sidebar. Each organization is completely isolated — boards, work items, team members, and settings are not shared across orgs.
